Submission Guidelines

In addition to our regular team of authors, we welcome guest writer submissions. While we cater towards authors who are young professionals and/or graduate students (see our About section), we welcome submissions from anyone regardless of socio-economic background or political views as long as the topic is interesting, the content is well-researched, and the writing is respectful.

Ramen IR topics vary greatly. The following are some examples that our authors are writing about:

  • Counterterrorism
  • Peacekeeping
  • Human Security
  • Conflict Resolution
  • International Development
  • Syria/Iraq Conflict
  • Afghanistan-Pakistan (Af-Pak)
  • Ebola

We are quite open to different subjects as long as they are related to international affairs and the author provides an interesting and well-researched analysis or opinion of the topic.

We do accept anonymous posts where we withhold the name of a guest author at his or her request, but we still do encourage authors to use their real names (how else will you brag about your awesome article on Ramen IR if you don’t have your name on it?).

If you are interested in submitting a blog post or an analysis paper to Ramen IR, please read below for instructions:

Blog Post:

Blog posts are the standard articles for Ramen IR. They cover timely topics related to international affairs and are to be presented in a succinct manner. They should be between 500 and 1,000 words. Chef’s Table:

Chef’s Table is a section on Ramen IR that provides readers insight into various professions related to international affairs and foreign policy. Ultimately, the mission of Chef’s Table is to better equip young professionals and students to break into the field of international affairs through lessons learned, career testimonies, and advice from experienced practitioners.
